Fort Street Presbyterian Church is a community of radical welcome in the heart of downtown Detroit. Grounded in the Reformed tradition and shaped by a long history of care for our neighbors, we gather to worship God, ask honest questions, and practice faith that nurtures both spirit and body. Whether you are deeply rooted in church life or just beginning to explore, you are welcome here.
At Fort Street, church is not about perfection or presentation. It is about showing up as we are and practicing faith together over time. Through worship, prayer, music, learning, and service, we grow into a faith that holds mystery and meaning, doubt and hope, justice and grace. We believe God is still at work, shaping us through shared life and honest reflection.
Mark your calendars for these great events coming up.
If you are visiting for the first time, we are glad you are here. Our Sunday service lasts about 60 minutes and includes music, communal prayer, a thoughtful sermon, and space for children and adults alike. Come early or arrive late. Dress casually or dress up. Bring your curiosity, your questions, or simply yourself. There is no pressure to participate beyond what feels comfortable.
