Shirley
Muench and her husband began attending
Fort Street Church in the early '90s, and she became a member
in 1995. Shirley said she has always felt welcome here at Fort
Street, and she and her husband pledged their support to the wide
ministry and outreach of the Church. Shirley has served as a Deacon
and, since her husband was an ordained Presbyterian minister,
she served several parishes as a minister's wife. Shirley looks
forward to the opportunity of serving as an Elder on the Session
of Fort Street Presbyterian Church.

Ruth
Boyce has been a member of Fort Street
Church for about 30 years, except for seven years when she and
her husband Don lived in northern Michigan, after retirement.
They returned to southeastern Michigan and to Fort Street in 2002
when Don was losing his battle against lung cancer because, Ruth
said, Fort Street and the people here felt like a sanctuary for
them. Ruth has served several terms on Session and has chaired
the Member Care Committee, Peace and Justice Committee, Open Door
Committee, and Nominating Committee. She also has served as a
member of the Personnel Committee, Finance Committee and others.
She also holds the Chorale close to her heart.

Jeannie
Ledermann indicates that Fort Street Church has
been a special part of her life, since she was a child. She was
married here and raised her two children, Katie and Eddie, here.
She has been active in various Church activities and committees.
For the past ten years, she has been very active on the Mission
Committee because, she says, she finds fulfillment from Fort Street's
outreach to help people.

Nnule
Mpeba arrived from Ogoni, Africa, in the
early eighties, to pursue his education. He enjoys reading non-fictions
and also has deep passion for swimming, running and soccer. He
is widely traveled and has spoken at several university campuses.
He and his wife, Deele-Lesi, have two children, Goodluck and Faith
Mpeba. The Mpebas are committed members of Fort Street
Presbyterian Church.

William
Curtis Ridge has been attending Fort Street
Church, since 1994, and became a member in 1998. He has served
Fort Street as both a Deacon and an Elder and, also, has been
a sound technician for the Sunday services as well as for weddings.
Curtis also served our country in the U.S. Army and was in Operation
Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

Richard
Turner has been a member of FSPC since
1992, shortly after moving to Detroit from Nashville, TN. He has
served FSPC as an Elder on Session, Chair of the Personnel Committee,
Publicity Coordinator for the Great Hall Series, lay reader, member
of the Nominating Committee, member of several search committees,
and as substitute organist. He also has served the Presbytery
of Detroit. His late first wife, Dolores Walker Turner, also served
on Session here at FSPC. He married Doris Greenlee Taylor in the
Stapleton Chapel in March 1998. Richard has two children, Michael
and Edris (Tucker), five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kalu
Uduma and his wife, Jessie, have traveled
far from their home town in Nigeria. Dr. Virgil Jones introduced
Kalu to Fort Street, and he became a member in 2000. Both of his
children, Emeka and Ozi, attend Fort Street as well. Kalu is a
senior technical specialist engineer with the DaimlerChyrsler
Corporation. Kalu says he loves Fort Street Presbyterian Church
and considers it an extension of his family.

Jack
Cameron has been a member of Fort Street
Presbyterian Church since 1977. He and Yvonne were married at
Fort Street in 1975. They have three grown children, all of whom
were baptized at Fort Street and grew up in its Sunday school
program. Jack has previously served on the Board of Deacons, Session
and various church committees and is a regular Sunday morning
usher.

Mark
Cooke moved to Detroit from Texas in 1994
to pursue a career in advertising. Mark and his wife, Camille,
were married at Fort Street in 2005 and became members shortly
thereafter. Mark has a great passion for Fort Street Church and
believes that Fort Street is a very rare church that has a lot
to offer to people who have not felt at home or comfortable in
other churches. He looks forward to the opportunity to serve our
congregation.

Valerie
Edward is a native Detroiter. She began
attending Fort Street Presbyterian Church after being introduced
to the Church by her sister. In 1991, she moved her
membership from Park United Presbyterian Church to Fort Street
Church, by letter of transfer. Her career has been
in stationary engineering operation and, presently, she is employed
by the City of Detroit in the position of Refrigeration Equipment
Operator (REO).

Greg
Jenkins lives in Allen Park with his wife
Marion and his sons Richard and Max. Greg teaches high school
English in Riverview. He has been a member of Fort Street Church
since 2003, and wants to see the church grow and prosper. He has
been active at Fort Street with the Sunday school program, The
Children of Abraham, Community Fellowship Committee, Mission Trips,
and the Nominating Committee. This will be Greg's first stint
as a Deacon and he believes that, with a total commitment, anything
can be achieved.

Tom
Marshall and his wife, Michelle, and their
daughter, Lindsay, have been members of Fort Street Church for
over 15 years. In that time, Tom has served as a Deacon, Moderator
of Deacons and on many other committees. Tom has worked with other
members as part of the Self-Study Committee, and has served as
a Fort Street sound technician. Tom currently is employed with
Lifetouch Church Directory Division as a Church Consultant. Tom
is looking forward to serving Fort Street Church and its members
again as a Deacon.

Warren
Michael Young was born in Detroit. He was
baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church. He attended
several colleges, universities and technical schools. He
was graduated from Ohio Institute of Technology (certificate in
electronics technology) and from Lansing Community College (associate's
degree in media technology). Michael joined Fort Street
Presbyterian Church in 1998. He has been involved in church
activities for several years and was responsible for the design
and installation of the sound system in the Great Hall.
He lives in Detroit and has one son, Marcus Young.
