Ada
Bell Earle was born and reared in St. Louis, Missouri.
Following her graduation from high school there, she completed
two years of college (history) in New York City. Her late husband,
whom she married in Tennessee, was a cook on the Missouri Pacific
Railroad. Ada, who was introduced to Fort Street Presbyterian
Church (FSPC) by Ella Minter, worked in the clothing room of the
Open Door Program for her first five years at FSPC. She is 82
years old and has been working at the Church for 27 years, beginning
upon her arrival in Detroit, and she has been a member of FSPC
for 26 years. She currently works at the Church on Sundays, Tuesdays
and Thursdays. Previously, she had been employed by the St. Paul
Hospital in St. Louis. Ada has no surviving family. She indicates
that Iola Jackson, another long-time member of FSPC and friend,
is her beneficiary. |
