Ken
McCoy
was born in 1972, a native Detroiter. He is the second son of
three boys. He attended Edmonson Elementary School, Pelham Middle
School and Murray Wright High School, where he received his high
school diploma. During
his high school years, he held many jobs. As a young man, one
of his first opportunities was to work at a really top-notch restaurant,
the Whitney, where he was employed for two years. Later, Ken wanted
to try something different, so he learned how to do drywall and
a bit of carpentry. For a year, he worked at a small auto plant,
Unicoat, and, for three years, he was employed by the Highland
Park Industries Auto Plant. Ken was out of work for awhile; however,
he stayed busy during that time by helping his dear mom, now deceased,
at home. In 1995, Ken was employed by a temporary employment service
company, when he got his calling to work as a custodian at Fort
Street Presbyterian Church. Ken has been employed by Fort Street
Church, ever since — "serving the Lord" —
as he says. He's very proud and happy to be employed by Fort Street
Church and, in his spare time, one may find him watching basketball
or playing the game. He also loves to draw and to work on cars.
So,
folks, that's the story about our "real McCoy!"
