Sunday School
About Christian Education
Church School begins at 9:30! Please try to be on time!
The Church School program at Fort Street Presbyterian Church is taking a bold and innovative approach to teaching the stories of the Bible by using the Workshop Rotation Model. This method uses multiple learning styles to reach all the children through movement, drama, video, art, music and storytelling.
The Teachers
The teachers for each workshop are gifted in one of these styles and they are more effective than if they were teaching in a variety of ways. The classrooms have been reworked to fit the particular environment of learning and the children change workshops each week, learning the lessons in 4 different workshops, in 4 different concepts of the same Bible story.
The Schedule
Grades 1-12 are participants. An Opening Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. for singing and fellowship for all the ages together. At 9:45 the children are dismissed to their workshop for the week and their classes end at 10:45 a.m.
In addition we offer a Church School class for children ages 3 - kindergarten. The curriculum for this group is "Seasons of the Christian Year." They also meet for the Opening Worship and are dismissed to their class at 9:45 a.m.
For the Infants
And that's not all! We offer Nursery Care for infant children through elementary school from 9:30 to the end of Worship. We have something for all of your children.
