"Lift the stone and you will find me; Cleave the wood and I am there." -the sayings of Jesus For the current scheduled classes click here Sunday School About Christian Education Church School begins at 9:30! Please try to be on time! The Church School program at Fort Street Presbyterian Church is taking a bold and innovative approach to teaching the stories of the Bible by using the Workshop Rotation Model. This method uses multiple learning styles to reach all the children through movement, drama, video, art, music and storytelling. The Teachers The teachers for each workshop are gifted in one of these styles and they are more effective than if they were teaching in a variety of ways. The classrooms have been reworked to fit the particular environment of learning and the children change workshops each week, learning the lessons in 4 different workshops, in 4 different concepts of the same Bible story. The Schedule The theme of this year’s Sunday School classes for Grades 1-8 will be “Children in the Bible” Each week Beth Brown leads all the children in Opening worship from 9:30 to 9:45 a.m. Kids are divided into groups of grades 1-4, 5&6, and 7&8 and over three weeks will rotate through different classes. After the “Children’s Message” during worship, kids in grades 1-5 have the option of a program in the Donlin Christian Education Center. On one Sunday of the month, Nancy Combs will lead the children in singing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. They will perform the “Introit” in worship on that day. So it’s very important that kids get to church by 9:30 every Sunday. For the Infants And that's not all! We offer Nursery Care for infant children through elementary school from 9:30 to the end of Worship. We have something for all of your children.
